Customer Review: This is ongoing fun
I got this for my 7yo. We have had great success and fun growing those little shrimp. Once established, they don’t require hardly any work, just fed occasionally. It’s the type of pet where we can leave for the weekend and they are just as content when we get home. So far, our 20 or so have lived over a month. I like the design of the tank, it’s squat and square, less likely to get tipped over than the tall thin ones. The lid seats just fine, it doesn’t snap into place or anything, so not for little kids. The kit came with food and everything, but I wish it had come with an eye-dropper to oxygenate the water before the algae got established. I had a new toddler medicine dispenser (bulb syringe) which did the job just fine though.
Customer Review: Reconsider Tank
I bought this for my very curious, very animal-loving 6 year old. She was thrilled to have some pets of her very own. But, I wish I would have thought twice about the type of tank I was buying. While the concept is pretty neat, the lid does not stay put, and the tank is pretty shallow, which makes it scarey to move, even though you don’t fill it all the way. I have two other, younger children, and the easy access is a very real concern. I would have preferred a lid that snapped on top to this. But, my little girl is thrilled that they are hatching, which they have done with less than ideal water conditions, although slowly. She dropped the lid a couple times and it split, but didn’t break. I was happy it wasn’t the tank. Overall, I gave this 4 stars, although I would have rather given 3.5 because 3 wasn’t enough, considering the excitement level of my little one.

Customer Review: Please don’t use antibacterial soap — even the FDA questions their use!
Antibiotic resistant bacteria are a *huge* problem in this country. Antibacterial soaps have been conclusively found to be no more effective at killing germs than plain old soap and water. There is great concern about increasing resistance due to the widespread use of these products in everything from hand soap to toothpaste to tile cleaner. Even the FDA called them into quesiton this fall — Google “FDA antibacterial soap” for lots of information. Please — for the sake of your children, your elderly parents, and mine, don’t fall for the manipulative advertising that leads you to think these products make your family safer — the opposite is the truth. (rated a 1 only because I had to rate it something)

Customer Review: aquarium with clock tickles older people
My elderly mother has been wanting an ocean screensaver ever since she saw one on a computer in a Radio Shack near her. I ordered this one for her was disappointed to see the giant clock in the middle of the ocean when we put this on her computer. I feel like it completely detracts from the fantasy of viewing sea life in the depths of the sea. However….she LOVES it. She doesn’t mind the discordance of th clock within the ocean. She is thrilled that she can glance at her screen and see the time and date in a large format, even from across the room. Go figure. At any rate, I am giving the product a high rating, because it is just perfect for her.

If you’re looking for a nice aquarium for your PC I highly recommend this one. I was so disappointed in Ocean Aquarium 3D that within 2 minutes of installing it I was out shopping for a replacement. Encore’s 3-in-1 Aquarium was just the ticket. It’s a wonderful screen saver & if you buy the 3-in-1 you get 3 versions of what they sell seperately for far less money. Each tank has many different things you can adjust. You get lots of cool fish to choose from & they interact with each other & swim around just like real fish do. The shark tank is also pretty cool. You can have the install put shortcuts on your desktop that let you turn your tank on instantly. Also included is the carosuel. It’s a feature that if you want, you can have the screen saver program choose randomly from any or all of your current savers besides the tanks. All tanks are easily adjusted to your liking by simply right clicking on your shortcuts & hitting “configure”. I have no regrets about buying this screen saver, just wish I’d bought it first & saved a little money.
