Customer Review: educational and exciting
We have all 4 Popular Mechanics videos. They are among my children’s favorites. They just wish theat there were more. The whole series is very informative, yet presented in a very entertaining way. There are two children who narrate and actually participate in all the activities ina very hands-on approach. My children wish they could be in their place. This one shows how they made the Aquarium of The Pacific in Long Beach. It shows how they built the exhibits, how they dove into the ocean to acquire the fish and the finished product. Full of wonderful information and brought down to a child’s level of understanding. The second part of the video is about zoos. It is also very educational and fun.
Fisher-Price Newborn Ocean Wonders Kick & Crawl Aquarium
The Fisher Price Ocean Wonders kick and crawl aquarium gym is a nice addition to the Ocean Wonders line. The same brightly colored and happy sea creatures make an appearance on this play mat/gym/tunnel. When it is mat time, the two soft toy bars dangle toys that baby can kick and bat at. The soft fabric is fun to touch and has plenty to look at. One of the dangling fish has a spinner, while the other plays quick tunes that aren’t overly loud. Baby will enjoy kicking the little beach ball to hear it rattle. Convert to tummy-time mode so baby can strengthen their core and help their EQ with the mirror and reactive toys. Once baby is crawling, convert the gym to the tunnel for some aquatic peek-a-boo. You can still attach the toys, but the fun to be had is crawling in and out or peering through the mesh sides. Manufacturer recommended age is birth to 18 months. –Scott Teal
Customer Review: Real versatile - fun for most ages!
I shopped around quite a bit for a playmat that was both versatile *and* inexpensive and this one fit the bill perfectly. I got it when my baby was 4 months old and the dangling toys above her head made great practice for reaching. They were just a bit too high to actually touch though, so that was a little frustrating for her but on the other hand, it meant they weren’t dangling right in her face either, unlike the other mat I had that she hated for that reason. For tummy time, the toys attached easily to a foldable front part of the mat - velcro held the toys so they were easy for baby to reach. The button on the fish was easy to push while in this mode and the other toys weren’t crowded. My one issue was that she would often flip the toys over the triangle and wouldn’t be able to reach them to pull them back by herself. The ball was her favorite. The jingle bell inside it made a great, safe rattle. Unfortunately it was so much fun, my 4 year old liked playing with it too and she wound up popping a hole in it from playing too rough with it. Now baby’s crawling, the mat has been transformed into a fun tunnel. I tried hanging the toys from the supports like the pictures show but baby just pulls them right off again and tosses them away. She likes the tunnel better without them in her way I guess. The 4 year old loves the tunnel too, though we keep telling her it’s a baby toy. They love to chase each other through it and hide in it. To give you an idea of the size of the tunnel, the 4 year old can just fit her whole self inside it if she draws her knees up. In all, it’s well worth the money I paid for it. It’s gotten 90% more playtime than the two other mats I was given afterward. One was an expensive rainforest dome mat. Baby played with that a few times but it just wasn’t as engaging and age-versatile as this mat. A real good buy.
Customer Review: Best Toy Purchased!
I bought this soon after my granddaughter was born. It has been absolutely wonderful in growing with her. I have used it for every single stage, from playing on her back, to playing on her stomach, to crawling through it. I have been very happy with it each day for its versatility in keeping me from having to buy different toys as the baby grew. Sometimes it took me awhile to figure out the instructions, but it is definitely well worth it.
