Customer Review: Made For A Horse But My Dog Loves It Too!
I was planning on buying the 8″ model for my 3 year old Shepherd/Lab mix. Then I saw the 10″ version for only a dollar more and decided to go for it. (Couldn’t pass up a bargain!)

I ordered it one day and it arrived the next! I don’t know how that was possible but it happened. When I opened the carton and saw the size of this thing I thought I had made a big mistake in getting the 10″ size. I couldn’t imagine how the dog could get his mouth around this huge ball. Well, it’s been a week now since it arrived and I am happy to report that T.J. (Toby Junior) loves playing with it and has figured out the bounces and way to grab it and would probably want to sleep with it if I let him bring it into the house. His favorite way to catch it is to grab the ball on a full “gallup” after only one bounce. If this was an event in the dog olympics I bet that T.J. would win the gold! The ball is extremely well made, will not deflate, as is advertised, and we are both getting a good workout throwing and retrieving it. I can’t recommend this ball more highly if you have a large mouthed dog and a large backyard. I’m sure it’s fine for horses too!!

Come Back, Little Sheba
After a shot gun marriage, Lola loses the couple’s baby and relies for comfort on her dog, Sheba, who has run away, while Doc is a recovering alcoholic who blames Lola for his dropping out of medical school. Though still depressed and bitter about their past, the couple rents out a room to a young woman named Marie and while Marie brings happiness and young love into their home, she also brings old ghosts reminding Doc and Lola of their misfortunes.

I realize why so many others gave this the highest rating. However, I just could not help thinking - this woman needs to get a life. She is so needy. Every time she called her husband “daddy” I wanted to scream. She spends the vast majority of her time trying to get the dullard’s attention and approval. The outcome is so predictable. The wife welcomes a sexy little college student into their home as a symbolic replacement for the baby she lost many years before. And the husband’s interest is at first non-existent and then becomes more than fatherly. Maybe I have heard this story too many times. I don’t know, but I had hoped for something at least a little more subtle.

I am a seventh grade English teacher and every year my classes study a Veterans Day unit. This video teaches an aspect of the humanity of the American soldier that nothing else I can present teaches. This video is compellingly compassionate towards treatment of animals in general, and specifically towards each of the featured dogs and their handlers in Viet Nam. Many of my students weep during the viewing of the video and no matter how many times I show it, I am always moved to tears. This video is so well loved it “disappeared” this year and I am frantic to replace it. I simply cannot teach the Veterans Day unit again without the slant this video provides, demonstrating graphically the emotional toll the dog handlers paid and the homage they continue to pay, these many years later, to the dogs who accompanied them in the jungles of Viet Nam. This video is tremendously AWESOME.

I don’t normally have much of a problem with fleas on my cats or dogs but normally I use Advantage when fleas do invade. I normally have to treat them once and the problem is gone. Last month the critters invaded again and I tried Frontline. I just noticed my one cat scratching and sure enough she has fleas again. So now I have to repeat the flea treatment which I have never had to do with Advantage.

This warm and funny account of a newly married couple trying to make a go of it on a backwoods chicken farm, based on Betty MacDonald’s popular best seller, was a big hit with audiences during the 1940’s and has lost none of its appeal today. This is a great film the entire family can watch together. Chester Erskine produced, directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Fred F. Finklehoffe in this hilarious and heartwarming film all will enjoy. Claudettle Colbert is wonderful as the shocked but game Betty when on her honeymoon her husband Bob (Fred MacMurray) informs her he has quit his brokerage house job and bought a chicken farm in the country. She figures things could be worse, and they are, as their farm is a ramshackle old place that fights back! After all, there’s not another place in the county like it; none of that streamlined stuff–no running water, no frigadare! There are some laugh-out-loud moments as Betty and Bob fix one thing that leads to another, from a door that comes off its hinges to an old wood burning stove that seems to have it in for Betty! Bob’s enthusiasm never wanes and Betty’s moxy helps her trudge forward, making the farm their own. As Betty gets attached to the chicks and a hunting dog who hides under the stove for safety she gets acquainted with her neighbors, Ma and Pa Kettle. Marlorie Main and Percy Kilbride are a hoot as the backwoods country folk with a bundle of young `uns whose names Ma is always mixing up. Pa is constantly “borrowing” tools and supplies from Bob yet can’t build anything right! This was the first appearance of Ma and Pa Kettle, who would become a small franchise for Universal. Betty has other things to contend with besides the farm, as the pretty Harriet Putnam (Louise Allbritton) has a fancy mechanized chicken farm just down the road and seems to have her sights set on Bob. There is a big dance and a country fair for distraction, and a side story involving the Kettle’s son Tom (Richard Long—Jarrod from The Big Valley) who is different than the rest of the family and would like to go to college. If only that quilt Ma gave Betty could win first prize…. But the real fun and warmth here comes from Betty and Bob and their efforts to make a go of it. Colbert is particularly endearing and even the farm can’t hide how great she looks in a flannel shirt and slacks. When Pa’s still blows up and starts a fire which destroys part of Bob and Betty’s place, all the neighbors come to chip in and help them rebuild. But some confusion caused by the backyard glamour girl, Bella Farms owner Harriet, sends Betty and her “little surprise” back to the city for a time. There is a nice ending, warm and funny like the rest of this very enjoyable family film. Having not read the book prior to seeing the film, I certainly intend to do so now. This film is a hoot, with a warm feeling that will bring a smile to your face. A great film for everyone. Grab a big bowl of popcorn and have fun.
Customer Review: A Funny Movie Based on a Hilarious Book
“The Egg & I”, a movie based on the book of the same title, is entertaining, clean( you can let the kids watch this one), and funny. It’s not quite as funny as the book, though. Claudette Colbert is perfectly cast as Betty, the convenience-loving city girl who gets much more than she bargains for when she marries Bob, who is bent on pursuing his dream of owning a chicken ranch. The ranch turns out to be isolated and primitive even by chicken ranch standards. Poor Betty is forced to adjust quickly, and does so reluctantly and clumsily. Those who read the book before seeing the movie may be a little puzzled by the appearance of “the other woman”, who is absent from the book. My suggestion: Read the book, then buy the movie, but don’t expect the latter to be exactly like the former. Both are VERY worthwhile buys, though. If you have to choose between the movie and the book, I’d suggest going for the book. The movie is very worthwhile, especially if you want a film that the whole family can enjoy.

Customer Review: Works fine on Vista
The product description does list Vista, but as B. Watanabe points out, the box itself does not. As with B Watanabe I bought this specifically because it says it is Vista compatible. However, I actually tried installing it and it installed just fine and works properly. So far I have seen no problems other than the box that does not list Vista. The only complaint I have is that installer for the software is not digitally signed verifying the publisher.

BUYER BEWARE!!!! I ordered this program/screensaver to give as a gift -specifically because it was supposed to be VISTA compatible (unlike other programs.) Unfortunately, the box I received (unlike the product described on line) did NOT list VISTA as one of the supported systems. As a result, I did not actually test out the program but am, instead, returning it. The same thing happened with the one other program I purchased from Amazon at the same time. I am very disappointed and must now try to find two replacement gifts very, very quickly. On a positive note, Amazon’s customer service was excellent. They are refunding my rush shipping.

Lamentablemente el formato es muy peque?o (m?s o menos media carta), por esa raz?n las fotos igualmente resultan peque?as, trae una foto por cada especie y alguna informaci?n un tanto superficial. Profundiza un poco en algunas de las m?s comerciales, por ejemplo carassius, koi, betta sin llegar a suficiente profundidad. El libro no es suficientemente claro en cuanto a los requerimientos de los peces sobre calidad del agua (PH, GH, Luz, etc) y pasa por alto esta informaci?n en la mayor?a de especies simplemente argumentando que no es muy exigente en cuanto a la calidad del agua.

Make sure your child is ready for a Webkinz before buying this or any other one! My son wasn’t ready when he got one last year - he was completely overwhelmed by the website and very disappointed. So we put it away until now, when he’s more mature and has seen others play online. But little did I know that use of the website expires after a year! They send you a notice - but only on the site - so if you’re not on the site, you don’t know. There’s a one month grace period, and then that’s it - you can no longer use that Webkinz pet online. Now it is simply a so-so stuffed animal Their answer? Buy another one!

Customer Review: Sunflower Design Birdbath
The birdbath was easy to put together and looks great! It is exactly what I wanted as far as the look of it. However, it does not hold water as the casting is poor and has a hole in it. I have tried using silicon caulk, but haven’t been 100% effective. It still has a small leak. If you don’t want to use it as a true birdbath but only as a decorative piece, you will be very happy with the product.
