Customer Review: Wonderfully Crafted Character Studies In Poignant Low Key Drama
“Turtle Diary”, starring the unexpectedly well matched Glenda Jackson and Ben Kingsley is a real personal favourite of mine and it’s off beat, low key charm always fascinates me. In today’s cinema where everything has to be instantaneous to keep the attention of jaded movie goers most films would never attempt to spend the time developing characters and situations as slowly and intricately as we find here. In this story that type of methodical approach works beautifully and allows the two lead actors to really flesh out their characters. Glenda Jackson and Ben Kingsley are totally believable as two very different individuals who are fired by a common cause which in this instance is to remove and then release the huge salt water turtles that are kept at the London Zoo into the ocean. The simple story, low key acting and interesting vignettes involving the supporting cast along the way all add up to a most touching story of self realisation and of the joy an individual can feel by moving outside of their comfort zone to achieve unexpected things. “Turtle Diary”, with its low key charm and everyday characters would never be a hit with the majority of modern day audiences so used to startling special effects and non stop action however for those that appreciate well thought out character studies of very indenitifable people then “Turtle Diary”, makes highly recommended viewing. In one of her most understated performances Glenda Jackson, who has always been a great favourite on mine, truly shows the great acting range she is capable of in a performance which is light years away from her usual power house characterisations in much better known films. The highly satisfying chemistry that she enjoys on screen with Ben Kingsley in an equally low key performance is what makes “Turtle Diary”, work so well and ensures that it be an essential part of any collection or retrospective of this great former actresses work. Try to catch this wonderfully quirky story of two very mismatched individuals united on a single mission as “Turtlenappers”, who not only achieve their aim but also learn something about themselves in the process in the beautifully crafted British film “Turtle Diary” soon. Customer Review: I’ve Got Fish!
When I was ten, one of my memories was helping my best friend clean out his aquarium. After that, I thought I’ll never have one of these, and I have not — until now. I love tropical fish. God has created such beauty in their colors, shapes, and even their movement. After some careful shopping, I bought this for myself for Christmas. I wish I had gotten it years ago. I’ve used the adjustments to enhance the lighting, and the overall effect is just beautiful. What a great gift idea this would make! Definitely worth the money. (I’m not crazy about the goldfish screensaver that also comes with it, though) And I will never have to worry about overfeeding them, or keeping the tank clean, or hearing the bubbles all night long, or even worrying about the cat! Whoever the creator/designer was certainly did a super job!

We have all 4 Popular Mechanics videos. They are among my children’s favorites. They just wish theat there were more. The whole series is very informative, yet presented in a very entertaining way. There are two children who narrate and actually participate in all the activities ina very hands-on approach. My children wish they could be in their place. This one shows how they made the Aquarium of The Pacific in Long Beach. It shows how they built the exhibits, how they dove into the ocean to acquire the fish and the finished product. Full of wonderful information and brought down to a child’s level of understanding. The second part of the video is about zoos. It is also very educational and fun.

I go this toy several days ago and within minutes my boy cat was going crazy. He has caught bird before just by his actions and how he catches DaBird. My female is 4 and likes to snooze, she is also playing with DaBird and having fun. The only drawback too the toy is it broke off at the front of DaBird so it has too be replaced. Needs a heaver swivel too connect too pole. Other than that, great toy, my furkids love it.

My dogs love these. I don’t know how these would hold up with a really large dog or an aggressive chewer, but for our dogs they’ve withstood years of tug-of-war, and are a favorite for fetch. Best of all, the tough canvas doesn’t get all scuzzy like the fleecey chew toys get.
Customer Review: Skunk is Fun
I have 2 terriers that are toy destroyers. This one is still going strong, and we gave it to them in December 06. It makes fun crunchy noises and does not come apart. It is the only toy that has stayed together more than a week in our house. It is not as “fluffy” as some of the other toys available, but it is quite hardy, and both dogs like it. It has also survived a few cycles through the washer.

Customer Review: Works fine on Vista
The product description does list Vista, but as B. Watanabe points out, the box itself does not. As with B Watanabe I bought this specifically because it says it is Vista compatible. However, I actually tried installing it and it installed just fine and works properly. So far I have seen no problems other than the box that does not list Vista. The only complaint I have is that installer for the software is not digitally signed verifying the publisher.

BUYER BEWARE!!!! I ordered this program/screensaver to give as a gift -specifically because it was supposed to be VISTA compatible (unlike other programs.) Unfortunately, the box I received (unlike the product described on line) did NOT list VISTA as one of the supported systems. As a result, I did not actually test out the program but am, instead, returning it. The same thing happened with the one other program I purchased from Amazon at the same time. I am very disappointed and must now try to find two replacement gifts very, very quickly. On a positive note, Amazon’s customer service was excellent. They are refunding my rush shipping.

I got this for my 8 week old grandson. He loves it. Everytime I lay him down for a diaper change, I have to start the music for him. He becomes quiet and looks at the moving creatures. Much easier to change him then.
